Even more involved school communities, new forms of support, ZERO WASTE School Participatory Budgets, Oxford’s debates, school campaigns and ZERO WASTE fairs, metropolitan civil panels and online tool: ZERO WASTE LOCAL MAP - this all and more awaiting the participant of the project “TURN ON ZERO WASTE!”.
The aim of the project is increasing civic and social participation of young people and to increase the involvement of young people in local policies of ecology and ZERO WASTE/ LESS WASTE (ZW/LW) in Wielkopolska’s local governments. The project is implemented within the years 2022-2024. As part of project, School Eko-Leaders Clubs will be created in 20 school institutions of Wielkopolska region, in which educational program will be implemented to educate young people to be more civically, socially and ecologically responsible, mindful of the needs of the natural environment, respecting the rights of others and willingly engaging to volunteer.
Each of 20 schools (primary and secondary) provides for participation of students and teachers in a series of workshops preparing for the activities of the School Eko-Leaders Clubs (SKEL).

We will carry out a participatory process, unique on a national scale, of preparing and implementing a new model of local policy in the field of ZERO WASTE and LESS WASTE covering the area of the Poznań Metropolis with an impact on the entire Wielkopolska region.

Stowarzyszenie Centrum Rozwoju Edukacji Obywatelskiej CREO (Polish), The CREO Civic Education Development Center Association (English) was established in 2004. From the very beginning, our main goal is comprehensive action for the development of civil society, stimulating the social activity of citizens, supporting non-governmental organizations and social initiatives, as well as promoting and popularizing the idea of volunteering. Among our activities, we prioritize the area of education and upbringing of the youngest. With this in mind, we have been implementing numerous educational projects in schools for many years. Their main assumption is to introduce children and young people to the subject of volunteering and civil society in practice, and to engage them in voluntary work for the benefit of those in need. At the moment, we are already conducting our activities in 80 schools in Greater Poland. Moreover, the CREO Association is also active in developing the idea of corporate and senior volunteering.

Stowarzyszenie Metropolia Poznań (Polish), The Poznań Metropolis Association (English) was established in 2011 and it consists of 23 local government units, including: the City of Poznań, the Poznań Poviat, 17 communes of the Poznań Poviat and four communes from the neighboring poviats. The aim of the Association is to support the idea of local government and protect the common interests of its members, in particular to support socio-economic development and cooperation of local governments. The association is mainly involved in initiating cooperation between local governments in such areas as EU funds, developing the idea of a metropolitan railway, urban mobility and integration of public transport, spatial planning and systematic improvement of the quality of life of residents.

Norsensus Mediaforum is an experienced organization from Norway, established in 2012, whose main area of activity is to support and improve the community (especially young people and from excluded groups) in creating media information and social campaigns, and through civic activity to create projects that integrate and open to diversity . Norsensus has extensive experience in creating media tools (films and services) and implementing workshops preparing for citizen journalism.

Društvo Ekologi Brez Meja - EBM (Slovenian), The Ecologists without Borders Association (English) is one of the leading Slovenian NGOs dealing with the improvement of the environment - focusing on the efficient use of resources and civic activation. EBM is an active member of several international networks such as Zero Waste Europe, Let's do it world !, Break Free From Plastic. EBM fights for a waste-free world through research, awareness-raising, education, collaboration and the creation of good practices. EBM also educates about the impact of waste on the climate. Since 2004, he has been running a growing network of cities that have adopted zero waste strategies, aiming at waste prevention and better management. In terms of education, EBM has co-implemented several Erasmus + projects and regularly conducts meetings and workshops for a variety of audiences, especially pupils and pupils in Slovenian schools. Currently, EBM is running a citizen science project on waste for schools across the country.
